Due to strict COVID-19-related travel restrictions for 2021, it is strongly suggested that visitors verify travel arrangements and excavation schedules prior to making final travel preparations. No final travel arrangements should be made prior to verification of the excavation dates with the excavation directors.

Nevertheless, a successful trip to Israel, Jordan, or Egypt requires considerable planning. Most tourists take prearranged tours where all is laid out by the touring company. If you are part of an excavation group then your sponsors, similar to a touring company, should provide you with the itineraries, schedules, and other information you need. Don’t be afraid to ask them about details. They expect you too.
If, however, you are an independent (not a member of an approved excavation group), then your arrangements are your own to make. In that case, we suggest you develop your trip plan with a travel agent and book your flight and hotel reservations though the travel agency. While at the excavation you will find that your weekends are normally free time. If you are planning to leave for the weekend be sure you have booked lodging.
